One Big Happy Christmas

“Call me when Christmas conquers the air.”

The cold breeze was penetrating my skin when my family and I arrived at the Church to celebrate the Christmas Eve Mass. The Church of San Guillermo serves as a living witness to my childhood in my hometown, and that makes it so special to me, aside from the fact that May Bukas Pa series tapes there. I listened to the homily, closed my eyes, felt the spirit of the yuletide season, breathed, and smiled.

“Merry Christmas. What are you and your family members doing? Oh really, you cook?”

I belong to a one big happy family. The number of cousins I have in the Tan family proves that. We always gather so it’s not odd to us kissing each other and greet one another a Merry Christmas. It was in our old house where we exchanged gifts, gave aginaldos, and ate so much food. I brought my laptop as my mom bought an internet dongle to greet our loved ones abroad. There were four of them, and I didn’t know whose call I was to answer first.

We were complete, I can say. Nothing compelling will be greater than my beloved family.

“Wake up. Change your mind. Accept my gift.”

Every time, my phone beeps as a new Christmas greeting is received. Orgmates, friends, colleagues, flirts, friends of friends, acquaintances, and even unknown people greeted me in the span of one day.

To those people mentioned above, Merry Christmas. My life before wouldn’t have been so comparable to today’s had you not entered my life.

To the whole world, have a wonderful Christmas! And to you Bro, Happy Birthday.

“I love you.”

Cleve! My cousins are chinito and chinita. That’s why we don’t look so much alike. :D Only my sister and I look differently because of our dad’s blood.

Merry Christmas to you Cleve! :)
