Hot Air Balloon Valentines

February 11-14 marked the days of the 15th Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta in Clarkfield, Pampanga. The exciting week-long event showcased numerous gigantic balloons, military tanks and weapons, and the Air Force’s jets and planes alongside with its brethren’s triumphs. The festival extends the history of Clark Air Base, having been the former United States Air Force and military facility based on Luzon for almost 90 years.

There was a lot more things to see and to do than to watch the balloons fly. There were skydiver flag jump, paragliding exhibition, aerobatic flight display, RC model aircraft demonstration, skydiving exhibition, light aircraft balloon bursting competition, kite flying exhibition, and (more…)

100 Araw, Countdown Begins

For the next 100 days, I’ll be part of an online writing project codenamed 100Araw.com. It is a collaborative effort whose goal is to exhibit daily commentaries, analyses, and views that would help Filipino netizens raise the level of awareness in line with the coming national elections. While it is clear that this opens political views, it doesn’t limit its readers get informed from only one facade. Along with journalists, IT enthusiasts, activists, youngsters, and bloggers, this project extends its goals to make different voices be heard and to unveil different lights from the spectrum, each having a hope to bring dawn overcoming shadows in our minds to bring forth change.

Apple iPad, Gorgeous?

On January 27, 2010, at Yerba Buena Center, San Francisco, Apple launched its newest creation in the digital world. It’s called the iPad. Yeah, it’s a non-slang for the iPod.

Months ago, Apple gave a clue to what their secret gadget is. It sounded like It’s something too big to fit in your pocket, but too small to fit on your laptop bag, or so.

Sining 2010 Artwork

There has been a slack time on my blog. Perhaps this is due to my immersion into academic pressure. But then again, as other bachelor bloggers would say, I must pat this blog with a warm towel.

I’ll start off my blog’s new year by sharing my latest graphic design. It’s an advertisement for the event Sining 2010, prearranged by the University of the Philippines Aguman (UP Aguman), one of my organizations in college.

Through the looking glass, I’ll tell more about this creation as a graphic artist and advertisement conceptualizer.

2010 New Year’s Resolution, Unrealistic?

Almost every New Year we endure a ritual of making promises to ourselves of things we ought to do and not to do. At the same time, unknowingly, we aspire to be a newly coveted person adored by at least ourselves. However, I know in my case, if I was going to be rated on how well I did in accomplishing last year’s resolution, it wouldn’t be really high. This might be due to my sense of optimism that raises my spirits to bring more challenging and in most cases even unrealistic anticipation. Or did I instead succumb to laziness?

But then again, as 2010 emerges into the picture, certainly many of us will spoil in a bit of navel gazing. We will assess our mistakes, bad habits, and insecurities, and decide to do better in the coming year. While we all know that New Year’s resolutions are easier to enumerate than to hold onto, it doesn’t limit us to from looking forward to a much better and more fruitful year than the previous one.
