2010 New Year’s Resolution, Unrealistic?
Almost every New Year we endure a ritual of making promises to ourselves of things we ought to do and not to do. At the same time, unknowingly, we aspire to be a newly coveted person adored by at least ourselves. However, I know in my case, if I was going to be rated on how well I did in accomplishing last year’s resolution, it wouldn’t be really high. This might be due to my sense of optimism that raises my spirits to bring more challenging and in most cases even unrealistic anticipation. Or did I instead succumb to laziness?
But then again, as 2010 emerges into the picture, certainly many of us will spoil in a bit of navel gazing. We will assess our mistakes, bad habits, and insecurities, and decide to do better in the coming year. While we all know that New Year’s resolutions are easier to enumerate than to hold onto, it doesn’t limit us to from looking forward to a much better and more fruitful year than the previous one.
